Happy Friday, y’all! Since our summer has been so super crazy and I clearly haven’t been keeping up by blogging about EVERY. SINGLE. THING. so today I thought I would bring it to you in a hot random recap kind of mess. So hold on tight for the favorites of this summer brought to you by…
1. Let’s start WAAAAAAY back in May. Nick and I celebrated 5 years of marriage and planned a whole mountain getaway to Glenwood Springs. However, snow happened so we ended up in downtown Denver for the night. Well several weeks later, we finally got that weekend getaway. {Major thanks to my amazing boss/friend and Caleb’s best grown-up friend for hanging out with the little man that weekend. You’re a true rockstar.}
2. While we are talking about May, Caleb and I got away for the weekend to Texas to celebrate Uncle C & Aunt Kaylyn’s wedding. The little guy was the most adorable sign holder I ever did see.
We also had a lot of fun in the sun (and pool) while we were there. Because it is Texas after all.
3. Fast forward to June and it was full of VBS craziness and camp craziness. Another fun thing that happens EVERY June though is my birthday. 😉 It’s no secret that I love birthdays so this year I thought it would be fun to experience Colorado’s infamous Grizzly Rose for country dancing. Might as well try to get any kind of Texas feels that I can, amiright?? Thankfully we had plenty of people that obliged and came along for the fun.
4. A HUGE thing that happened this summer was Caleb moved from his crib to a big boy bed. This is the first real transition that had me all kinds of teary eyed. My baby is now a big boy and he LOVES it. He hammed it up by saying bye to his crib by giving hugs and jumping like a crazy man.
Then he immediately crawled into his big boy bed and deemed it ‘comfy cozy.’
It’s been a pretty easy transition and the little man has slept even better since the big move. I am VERY MUCH relieved. These aren’t the best pictures in the land, but we have changed the colors of his room to red, blue, & white instead of the lime green & navy from his nursery. The poor kid still needs a bed skirt but his big boy room now has a new bed, new dresser, new rug, & new bookcase. It’s definitely been quite the makeover that we decided to embark on in the craziest season of our family. We plan so well. Ha!
5. Last big event of the summer to cover is that we took Caleb to his first ever Rockies game over Father’s Day weekend! We lasted six innings with two of those eating ice cream and two of them with me & him at the playground. We consider it a win. 😉
WHEW!!! Is anyone even still with me?! As you can tell, we have been GO GO GO all summer long! The adventure doesn’t stop yet. Our family is gearing up for some more travels so look forward to hearing all about those sometime before Christmas time. (Kidding. I promise to do quicker.)
Here’s to the rest of the summer as it’s flying on by!
